Over 200 pyramids built in ancient Nubia, the largest concentration of pyramids anywhere on Earth. Steeper than Egyptian pyramids (70° vs 51°), smaller, but built over a longer period. The Nubians were closely connected to Egypt but maintained independent pyramid-building traditions for centuries after Egypt stopped. Some contain iron artifacts and advanced metalwork.
